For major insurers, winning new customers is much more expensive than keeping existing customers. They also have to make sure that premiums outweigh claims. After a few decades, this kind of company is awash with an overwhelming amount of customer data that has a powerful predictive ability as long as it can be controlled. We joined a multi-skilled team to design Big Data filters for a top insurer. This gave executives the power to design a holistic approach to managing a customer’s insurance life on an individually customised basis.
