How we handle your information
Who we are
SuperUltra is the trading name of Calantzis Design (Pty) Ltd, a digital product design studio based in South Africa. In this policy “we” and “SuperUltra” refer to Calantzis Design (Pty) Ltd. This policy explains what personal information we collect through superultra.co, why we collect it, who we share it with and what your rights are. It is written to comply with the Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (POPIA).
Our Information Officer is Anya Calantzis. You can reach her at admin@superultra.co.
What we collect
Webinar and event registrations. When you register for one of our webinars we collect your name, email address, company, job title, phone number, industry and anything you type into the comments field. We also record the page you registered from, including any campaign codes in the link you clicked, so we know which invitation reached you. Your IP address and browser type may be recorded for security.
Contact chat. Our contact page uses a chat assistant called Mave. Whatever you type into the chat, and any contact details you give, are collected so we can respond.
Mailing list. If you subscribe to our mailing list we collect your email address and, if you give it, your name.
Analytics and cookies. With your consent, we use Google Analytics to understand how people use the site. Cookies are only set once you accept them in the consent banner. The full list of cookies we use, and what each does, is in the cookie declaration below.
We do not collect special personal information such as health, religious or biometric data, and the site is not intended for children.
Why we collect it
We use your information to register you for the event you signed up for, send you the joining details and reminders, follow up with related material after the event, respond to your enquiries, send our newsletter if you subscribed, and understand which of our campaigns and pages work. We rely on your consent for marketing and analytics, and on our legitimate interest in running the events and services you ask for.
You can withdraw consent at any time. Every marketing email has an unsubscribe link, and cookie consent can be changed through the banner settings on any page.
Who we share it with
We use a small number of service providers to run the site and our events. They process your information on our instructions and may not use it for their own purposes.
- Thoughtware.lab, the marketing agency that runs our webinar campaigns, which stores registrations in a database on our behalf.
- Zoom, which hosts the webinars and sends registration confirmations and calendar invitations.
- Mailchimp, which sends our newsletters and event invitations.
- Stubber, which provides the Mave chat assistant.
- Google, for analytics and for the reCAPTCHA service that protects our forms from spam.
- Vercel, which hosts this website.
- Cookiebot, which manages cookie consent and keeps a record of your choices.
Where an event is run together with a partner, we tell you so on the registration page. We do not sell personal information.
Transfers outside South Africa
Some of these providers store information on servers outside South Africa, mainly in the United States and Europe. We only use providers who are bound by contract or by law to protect your information to a standard comparable to POPIA.
How long we keep it
Event registrations are kept for the duration of the event series and for up to 24 months afterwards so we can send related material and understand attendance. Mailing list details are kept until you unsubscribe. Chat transcripts are kept for up to 12 months. Analytics data is kept for the retention period set in Google Analytics, currently 14 months. We delete or anonymise information sooner if it is no longer needed.
Security
Information is transmitted over encrypted connections and stored with providers who apply industry-standard security controls. Access within SuperUltra is limited to the people who need it. If a breach ever affects your information we will notify you and the Information Regulator as POPIA requires.
Your rights
You may ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, object to us processing it, or withdraw consent you have given. Email admin@superultra.co and we will respond within a reasonable time, normally 30 days. We may ask you to confirm your identity first.
If you are not satisfied with how we handle your information you can complain to the Information Regulator of South Africa at complaints.IR@justice.gov.za or inforegulator.org.za.
Cookie declaration
The list below is generated automatically from the cookies and trackers found on this site and updates when they change. You can change your consent at any time using the settings in the cookie banner.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle personal information we will update this page and change the date at the top. Significant changes will be flagged on the site.
